DIGITAL COLLECTIONS & ARCHIVES WORK

At the Wisconsin Historical Society, I worked with the McCormick–International Harvester Collection, one of the state’s most complex and historically significant digital collections. My work includes:

  • Digitization & Quality Control of photographs, posters, brochures, ephemera, manuals, and much more
  • First-pass descriptive metadata creation based on diligent research and industry best practices
  • Metadata remediation and legacy record cleanup including identifying mismatches, inconsistencies, gaps, and missing items
  • DAMS-related work improving accuracy, clarity, naming conventions, and discoverability
  • Internal access improvements including documentation and searchable reference guides
  • Preservation support such as rehousing and stabilizing materials
  • Workflow documentation and systems thinking, especially user-focused DAMS migration solutions and website navigation improvements

This work has strengthened my skills in digital stewardship, archival description, metadata problem-solving, and user-focused access design and deepened my commitment to equitable, trustworthy, publicly accessible information.

WHERE I’M HEADED

I’m continuing to develop as a digital collections specialist and cultural heritage professional, with interests in:

  • Corporate or nonprofit archives
  • Image research
  • Historical and modern research for documentaries or podcasts
  • Genealogy and community-focused research
  • Oral history
  • Information access and public-facing content design
  • Research roles supporting justice-centered organizations

Across all of these areas, my goal remains the same: to help people find what they need and to make information clearer, more connected, and more accessible.
